I was really happy to be tagged by the lovely Broody Me earlier in the week. It's so nice to know that people are thinking about you plus this is a super fun challenge.
The challenge is 'Desert Island Discs' and I had to choose eight tracks which would help me keep my sanity if I was stranded on an island. I actually nearly lost my marbles trying to compile my list - it was much, much harder than I thought it was going to be.
I have tried to keep it fairly jolly and stay away from anything too 'heavy'. My musical tastes are rather eclectic, as you will see. David Bowie, Pink Floyd, The Who (Pinball Wizard in particular), Nirvana, Red Hot Chilli Peppers and The Carpenters are gaping holes on my list - do you see how hard this is now! Plus I adore classical music and opera and have omitted Puccini - terrible.
I hope the choices make your toes tap as much as mine and possibly encourage a little dancing.
I couldn't manage without a Foo's track - it was so hard to pick. I have chosen Foo Fighters - Learn to Fly. because the video makes me chuckle and the song is great.
Immigrants Song - Led Zepplin. Is played constantly in our house. The boys are all convinced they are descended from Vikings so this is kind of their anthem and it is Tristan's favourite song.
Vaughan Williams -Fantasia on Greensleeves. This has always touched me. It makes me very emotional - I just love it.
Faith No More - Midlife Crisis What can I say? It takes me back quite a few years to head banging at the Ritz in Manchester. How times change.
Muse - Super Massive Black Hole this is such a great song and also Theo's favourite. Great for dancing about in the living room too.
Helen Reddy - Angie Baby This is my 'singing in the shower' track. I love so many of her songs but this is always the one I end up singing. 'I Am Woman' is pretty awesome as well for those moments when you need to empower yourself.
The Doors - Riders on the Storm Classic. Nothing else to say.
Tenacious D - Tribute Jack Black is hilarious, the video is hilarious and the song is amazing. The guy just rocks.
Now the baton must be handed over to three of my fellow bloggers. I tag:
Happiness in Learning - my friend, beautiful writer and fellow home educator.
