The #Homeedlinkup week 5

Welcome to this weeks #Homeedlinkup!

Thank you to everyone who took the time to link-up and also comment last week. I have an ever growing list of activities to do, resources to buy and places to visit thanks to all the inspirational posts I have been reading over the last few weeks. I hope that you are finding the link-up as helpful as I am.

The winner of 'The Heuys - None the Number' by Oliver Jeffers is (drum roll) Our Field Journal.  I'm sure that it will be a hit because it really is a delightful little book. All I need is a lovely little email to tell me where to send it.

Here are a few my personal favourites from last week.

Three Kids and a Gluestick posted about their week which including meet-ups with friends, vegetable picking and mural painting. If you are wondering what a typical home-ed day looks like then this is a good post to peruse.

Educating Sausages are thriving now that their approach to home-education has changed direction away from structured learning on to a more fluid unschooling path. I really enjoy reading about the many different methods of home-education families use and Lucy's post is an excellent example of how successful unschooling can be.

The Accidental Home-Educator shared tips for teaching maths through art. The post resonated with me because our approach to learning is very visual and tactile so any way of bringing maths to life for us is met with open arms. It's a detailed post which is well worth a read if you are looking for fun maths activities.

For anyone seeking direction this week, I'd love to hear your thoughts on socialisation as it's the issue that most often gets raised when people talk about home-education. We all know our kids socialise but it's always nice to share this with the wider community.

Here are the guidelines for the linky.

The link-up is for any home-education based post. It could just be a photograph from the week, your favourite post or a note about a particular success.

If you don't blog but want to get involved then simply post a comment at the bottom of this post so that we can 'meet' you. Nobody wants to click on a link and zoom off to find themselves on an advertising post so please don't link-up with ads. The only other rule is just the good manners one - keep it clean and polite please.

I am really, really looking forward to reading more fabulous posts this week and meeting other home-educators. Please help spread the word about the linky in in doing so the positive message about home-education.

Thanks so much for taking the time to read this and link-up. I will read, share and comment on all the posts and it would be ever so nice if you could comment on at least three other posts on the list. And remember to spread the blogroll love by adding a few of the blogs listed here to your own site. If you click on the 'blogroll' tab in my menu bar at the top of the page then you should find your URL listed there on my updated list - if not please let me know and if anyone wants to return the favour...

Have a wonderful week!
