The Home Education Weekly Link-Up

The link-up last week was very successful not just in terms of the number of posts which were linked up but in the fact that people made new contacts and friends which can only be a positive thing. Personally I 'met' some lovely home-educators and I have enjoyed reading their blogs during the course of the week - thee are some very inspirational ideas out there.

I will be updating my blogroll to include all the blog sites from last week so that I have an easily accessible way to follow their posts. It would be nice to share a little blogroll love so if you have a chance to update your own list to include a few of the blogs you read from this linky I think it would be rather a nice way to support our fellow home- edders.

I was very interested to read the ofamilyblog post which talked about letting children take the lead when it comes to learning. I have to agree with her comments concerning the negative impact parental nagging and coercing can have on a child's enthusiasm for learning. Once that is removed it is possible to see that children do actually want to learn.

Sarah from Weshallobtaindeliveringgrace shared a wonderful post questioning whether home-educators should use school books. The post is filled to the brim with resource suggestions and well worth a look if you haven't already.

Finally, Lucy from educatingsausages linked up with a fabulous post in which she explains how her family have settled into home-education one year on. She writes not only about how her children have grown in confidence from their home-schooling but also how both herself and her husband have overcome some of the challenges home-education can present.

If I had all evening I would thank  and comment here about every single post as they were all wonderful and I must thank you all once again.

The link-up is for any home-education based post. It could just be a photograph from the week, your favourite post, a note about a particular success or if you are the creative type a home-ed poem - now there's a challenge.

If you don't blog but want to get involved then simply post a comment at the bottom of this post so that we can 'meet' you. Nobody wants to click on a link and zoom off to find themselves on an advertising post so please don't link-up with ad's.The only other rule is just the good manners one - keep it clean and polite please.

I am really, really looking forward to reading more fabulous posts this week and meeting other home-educators. Please help spread the word about the linky in in doing so the positive message about home-education.

Thanks so much for taking the time to read this and link-up. I will read, share and comment on all the posts and it would be ever so nice if you could comment on at least three other posts on the list.

Have a great week!
